Street Corner Ministry March 5, 2022

Another great weekend at the MMOG Street Corner Ministry! Tim and I were away celebrating his daughter's wedding and dancing the night away and we were able to do this because the servants of Jesus showed up! Special thanks goes out to Steve Connell and Brent Stevens for picking up the trucks and getting them up and running. As Steve listed the comedy of errors (or technical difficulties in this case) I thought "we had the exact right guys in charge". 

We also want to thank Ruthie's food truck for dishing out 90 plates of their special brand of soul food goodness. We hired them at our very first serving opportunity in tent city over two years ago and we were happy they were willing to help us out again. I heard the chicken was truly soul satisfying. 

The neighbors continue to expect us at the corner and kept the Hope Vibes truck busy; we maxed out our capacity for laundry for the second week in a row and even showers were more utilized. 

Also for the second week in a row we experienced the neighbors we go to serve then returning the love and helping us out at the supply table and clean up.

I'm excited to get back to catching up with our regulars that have come to rely on us as well as meet new neighbors looking to offer help. Thanks to all who laid their lives down this weekend to make someone else's day brighter - you are truly an inspiration.
