MMOG was an abbreviation for Mighty Men of God, and was born in 2008 from Tim and Anthony's desire to show middle school and teen boys the real Jesus as they knew Him from the scriptures; Tim and Anthony created an annual event that portrayed the epic battle of good vs evil, challenged kids to rethink the world they live in and critically think about the best way to engage with it, and to provide a means to be vulnerable without judgement around a bonfire.
The first event had a dozen middle school boys, many whom have since given their lives to Jesus and remain faithful to His call to this day. Eventually teens wanted to participate, then dads/guardians joined the kids, then dads/guardians wanted a separate event for themselves, then families from other cities joined and now the event regularly has about 100 participants!
In 2020 during the pandemic, MMOG was shown it's enhanced mission not just to raise up youth for Jesus, but to also do what He says in loving our neighbor above ourselves. Each MMOG event now includes a community service event by which the kids are able to bring a little light to the hurting before going back to the battlefield to fight back the dark forces!
